NYCLU "Facts Machine" raises awareness

The NYCLU needed to raise awareness about New York’s outdated abortion laws, which had been outdated for so long that people had stopped caring. We developed a campaign around another sad, old artifact: the fax machine. The fax machine became “the facts machine” and printed facts about the policy to rally people to contact their state senators around a crucial vote. As a final twist, anyone who used our special phone number, advertised on the facts machine livestream on Facebook and YouTube, sent a fax to demand attention. Word on the street is that we flooded Governor Cuomo’s office with faxes - something that hadn’t happened in decades.
